CONFERENCE 2010
'Connecting Women: Respecting Differences'
The University of Waikato, 19-21 November 2010
Community participation scholarships
Applications are now open for a limited number of scholarships to cover travel, accommodation and registration costs for ethnic community women to participate in the 2010 'Connecting women, respecting difference' conference. These scholarships are designed to enable participation by low income women nad have been made possible by funding from the NZ Lottery Grants Board.
Download and send in this application form by 5pm on 16 August 2010.
The theme of this conference is exploring the diverse experiences of women according to their ethnicity, culture, age, sexuality, religion, disability, and other differences. We strongly encourage ethnic community women to attend and present at the 2010 Connecting Women: Respecting Differences Conference. We also recognise that financial barriers to participation disproportionately affect women in marginalised social groups. Thus, applications are now invited from Maori and Pasifika women, ethnic, migrant, and refugee women living in New Zealand.
If awarded, the scholarship will cover conference registration fees, the conference dinner, travel costs if travelling from outside of Hamilton/Kirikiriroa, and accommodation costs (staying at The University of Waikato student halls).
